Kathmandu. Jyoti Gurung, accused in the Miteri Cooperative fraud case, has been ordered to appear before the court within 21 days. The Lalitpur District Court has ordered Gurung to submit his reply with evidence.
Gurung is the ex-wife of Nepali Congress leader Dhanraj Gurung.
Jyoti Gurung, 48, of Arjun Chau pari Rural Municipality-2 of Syangja, has been mentioned as the wife of Dhanraj Gurung in the notice issued by the court.
Bodh Bikram Thapa, secretary of the cooperative, had filed a case against the caste.According to the court’s notice, a 21-day notice was issued as per Section 105 (22) of the Civil Procedure Code, 2073 BS as per the order issued by the District Court in the name of Gurung.
Jyoti is accused of embezzling Rs. 12 crores when he was the General Manager of the cooperative. A red notice has also been issued against Jyoti Gurung in connection with the misappropriation of money of Miteri Cooperative. The court, however, made it clear that if he fails to appear before the court within the stipulated time, it will be in accordance with the law and no complaint will be filed.
