Nepal-India cross-border payment service launched

Kathmandu. The ‘Cross-Border Payment Agreement’ between Nepal and India has come into force . Minister for Foreign Affairs Sishir Khanal and External Affairs Minister of India ( In the meeting of Jaishankar, it was agreed to implement ‘cross-border payment’. 

With this, you can now transfer personal money between Nepal and India online.However, at present, this service is available only from certain banks and financial institutions. 

As per the of Nepal Clearing House Ltd. (NCHL){{}, the customers of the commercial banks whose service has been activated will be able to transfer money to India through the mobile app of IPS Mobile Banking or Connect.

For this service, banks have placed the option of mobile {{} banking ‘Cross-border funds for this service. Virtual payment address such as bank account or mobile number should be used for transferring money. 

On the Indian side, only certain banks have started cross-border payment services (.Nabil Bank has started remittance service through its Mobile Banking App ‘N ‘Nepal-India-Nepal Real-Time and ‘PTUP. Under this, a person having an account in Nabil Bank will be able to send money to their family or friends in India through the mobile app and to their family in Nepal from India or and to their friends in Nepal from India {{{} and send money to Nabil Bank .
