Kathmandu. Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RSS) President Rabi Lamichhane in New Delhi today.

After the meeting, Prime Minister Modi said in his Facebook post that he was very happy to meet President Lamichhane. “I will work closely with President Lamichhane for a shared prosperous future and welcome and fully support his wish,” the statement said.

“Nepal is a primary partner country under the ‘Neighbourhood First’ Policy and looked forward to working with the new government to take our special and multifaceted relationship to a new level,” Modi said.

During the meeting, matters relating to Nepal-India relations, relations between RSP and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and mutual interests between the two countries were discussed.

Indian External Affairs Minister Dr Jaishankar, PM Modi’s Chief Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Foreign Secretary Bikram Mishri were present on the occasion.

Lamichhane left for New Delhi on Monday on a five-day visit to India at the invitation of BJP President Nitin Naveen. Meanwhile, President Lamichhane met Indian Home Minister Amit Shah and Foreign Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh on Tuesday. During the meeting, Jaishankar met BJP President Naveen Singh and other top officials.
