Kathmandu. Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle has urged industrialists and businessmen to expand their investment without any fear. Speaking at the first session of the discussion series on budget implementation initiated by the Ministry of Finance, Minister Wagle said that the government was ready to create conducive environment in favour of the entrepreneurs.
Pledging that the government would facilitate the spread of private sector in every way, he urged the government to expand investment, create employment opportunities and create an environment that something would happen in the country. He also urged the industrialists and entrepreneurs to remain assured that the government would protect the investment.
“You can confidently expand investment, create jobs, and tell us without confidence what the state needs to do. Finance Minister Wagle said, “The government is with you in all legal and practical difficulties. It is the responsibility of the government to protect your investment. ’
According to him, the government’s budget of Rs 21.24 trillion should make the economy of Rs 66 trillion dynamic and the private sector is the driving seat. Stating that the budget has made efforts for reforms to move ahead by openly investing the private sector, he urged the industrialists and entrepreneurs to clearly state if any more policy-level hurdles need to be removed.
“This is the first year of a clear five-year economic roadmap. Now we have only begun to reform. There is still a lot of work to be done in the coming year. “The private sector should move ahead hand in hand, the government is always with us,” he said. ’
During the five-hour long discussion on Tuesday, he listened to the problems of industrialists and entrepreneurs. He also urged the private sector to resolve the complaints related to excise duty, customs duty, export subsidy and banking sector through mechanism.
Stating that the implementation of the policies mentioned in the budget has already gained momentum, he said the government wanted import substitution, security of investment by the private sector and collaboration with the private sector which can earn profit. He said that the government and private sector should work hand in hand for investment and development of productive economy.
