Kathmandu. A foundation stone has been laid for the construction of a new building of Shree Janakalyan Secondary School at Khajura rural municipality-4 in Banke district.

Counsellor at the Embassy of India, Kathmandu, Gitanjali Brandon and Khajura Rural Municipality Chairperson Dambar Bahadur B. K. jointly laid the foundation stone for the building.

The school building will be implemented in Khajura Rural Municipality under the High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP) with the financial assistance of about Rs 32 million from the Government of India. This project is the eighth high impact community development project being implemented in Banke district.

On the occasion, the local stakeholders including the chairperson of Khajura Rural Municipality appreciated the development assistance received from the Government of India and expressed the belief that the new school building would create more safe, convenient and quality learning environment for students and teachers.

The Indian side has been supporting the Government of Nepal in its campaign of development and prosperity through infrastructure development in priority areas including education, while continuing the close neighbourly relations and development partnership between Nepal and India. It is also stated that various development works are being carried out as per the need of the local level through High Impact Community Development Project.
