Kathmandu. Around 13,500 religious tourists have visited Kailash Mansarovar in Tibet Autonomous Region of China in a year. According to the statistics of the Immigration Office, Rasuwagadhi, 13,523 tourists visited Kailash Mansarovar in the fiscal year 2082/83. This is an increase of 18.75 percent compared to the previous fiscal year. In the fiscal year 2081/82, 11,387 tourists visited Kailash Mansarovar.
Kailash Mansarovar is an important pilgrimage site for Hindu, Buddhist, Jain and Bon religions.The use of Rasuwagadhi border point is increasing as it is expensive to travel through Hilsa border point of Humla.
The flood in the Lhende River swept away the Friendship Bridge connecting Nepal and China on July 9, 2008.After China built the bailey bridge, the immigration started working from January. Yadav Bhandari, chief of Immigration Office, Rasuwagadhi, said that the number of people entering the border points has increased in comparison to the last fiscal year.
A total of 53,742 people have used the Rasuwagadhi border point to cross the border to and from China- Nepal in a year.In the fiscal year 2082/83, 27,293 tourists visited Nepal and 26,449 tourists left Nepal, said Bhandari. Compared to the last two years, the use of this border point has increased by 20.74. In the fiscal year 2081/82, 44,509 tourists used this checkpoint.
Due to Kailash Mansarovar visit, there is a large number of Indians using this border point connecting Nepal and China.In the financial year 2082/83, 24,278 Indians, 10,257 Nepalese, 6,027 Chinese, 4,214 Americans, 1,534 Australians, 917 Russians, 911 Malaysians, 884 Bhutanese, 810 Britons and 420 Canadians TAG_OPEN_crossed the border. span_29}Data.
Kailash Tourists go to Lhasa, Everest Base Camp (base Chinese territory using this border point. In the last fiscal year, the number of people going to Lhasa and Base Camp using this border point has decreased by . Last year, 626 peoplewent to Lhasa and 22 to the base camp. The number of people going to Lhasa has decreased by and the number of people going to the base camp by and the number of people going to the base camp by 92 percent.
