Bhotekoshi floods: 258 bodies recovered so far, hundreds still missing

Kathmandu. So far, 258 people have died due to floods in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa. According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, two dead bodies have been recovered in Rasuwa, 12 in Nuwakot, 27 in Dhading, 20 in Gokhara, 108 in Chitwan, 12 in Tanahun, 62 in Nawalparasi East and 15 in Nawalparasi West.

According to the NRA, 13,295 security personnel have been mobilized at present. Among them, 7,250 Nepal Police, 4,200 of Nepal Army and 1,845 Armed Police Force have been deployed in rescue, search and relief operations. According to the Authority, 351 people have been rescued in 69 helicopters today.

According to the NRA, 910 people are currently out of contact. Of them, 28 are from Nepal Police, 44 from the Nepal Army, 13 from the Armed Police Force Nepal, 15 from the Customs Office, four from the Immigration Office, 161 from Rasuwa and one from Nuwakot. Similarly, 517 foreign nationals and 127 Nepalis living abroad visiting Nepal are not in contact.
