‘Global Magbit: The Pitcher’s Arena 2026’ Pitch Contest inside the elevator for the first time in Nepal!

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The ‘Global Gambit: The Pitchers Arena 2026’ program has concluded in Kathmandu on Sunday. GCI Entrepreneurship Club, Global College International (GCI) in association with Global College of Technology (GCT) and The Doors | The program, which was organized from July 29 to 17 with the participation of various partner organizations including Become a Doer, was held in a grand manner.

The program was organized with the aim of promoting entrepreneurial thinking, innovation, leadership skills and education-industry collaboration among the youth, which included various programs including Academia-Industry Connect, Global Business Mela, Business Idea Pitching, Elevator Pitch and TradeX 100.

Students from 13 colleges of Kathmandu Valley participated in the program. Bhawani Rana, the first woman president of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), was the chief guest in a panel discussion on ‘Academia-Industry Connect: Where Ideas Meet Opportunities’.

Sharing her experiences on industry, leadership, entrepreneurship and role of youths, she said collaboration between education and industry was the need of the hour. The panel discussion was facilitated by young activist Nabin Giri. In the discussion, Santosh Pandey (Country Manager, Yango Nepal), CA Anupama Sangraula (Founder, Bright Academy) and Prakiran Shrestha (First Vice President, NYEF Lalitpur) shared their experiences and views on the topic of collaboration between industry and academia, innovation, leadership development and connecting students with opportunities.

Similarly, in the Global Business Fair, students and young entrepreneurs got the opportunity to showcase their products, services and business concepts and get an opportunity to test the market live. According to the organizers, the fair provided an effective platform for students to test their business concepts, interact directly with customers and gain market experience. In the Business Idea Pitching Competition organized under the program, the best teams from 13 colleges competed. In the competition, Texas International College stood first, Kasthamandap A-level Academy second and Global College of Management third.

Similarly, the ‘Elevator Pitch’ competition organized inside the elevator for the first time in Nepal had created a special attraction. Nishant Dhakal of Kasthamandap A-level Academy was declared the first in the competition to present his business concept effectively within a limited time. The TradeX 100 program, which is conducted with the aim of providing practical entrepreneurial experience, will reward each team with a cash prize of Rs. The challenge was to provide 100 and use it within two hours to create maximum return. The Global College International A-Level team was the winner in the competition based on real market, risk management and business decision-making. The show was judged by Anup Ghimire, Sawiya Shaha and Sadesh Gaire.

According to program in-charge Nabin Giri, ‘Global Gambit: The Pitchers Arena 2026’ has further strengthened the culture of creative thinking, problem-solving ability, leadership development, innovation, and direct collaboration with industry. He said that the program has made significant contribution in developing future entrepreneurs, innovators and leaders by linking education with practice. The three-day event, which was conducted for three days, established a new dimension of collaboration among students, educational institutions, and industry and became successful to establish its identity as an effective forum for promoting student-centered entrepreneurship in Nepal.
