Kathmandu. The Department of Immigration has blacklisted 10,000 passports. The department has blacklisted 10,000 passports on the recommendation of Nepal Police, Department of Prison Management, Courts, Department of Money Laundering, Department of Cooperatives and Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA).

According to the department, out of the 10,000 passports blacklisted, 6,000 are Nepali passports and 4,000 are foreign passports.

The details of whose passports have been withheld have not been disclosed. However, in the case of foreign nationals, the passports of those who have come to Nepal and committed various criminal offenses have been blacklisted, according to the department.

Some of the foreign passports that are blacklisted have already been expelled from Nepal. Their passports have also been blacklisted for a certain period of time.
