Declining marriage and birth rates, increasing divorce and loneliness!

अर्थ सरोकार

Kathmandu. The cases of divorce have been increasing rapidly in the last few years. One of the main reasons for this is foreign employment. If the husband or wife is abroad, the situation of divorce is due to mismatch of the amount sent from abroad or due to another relationship. Due to which the children are in the most trouble.

When the parents divorce, the children are separated and this is what has been happening in recent times. Foreign employment is contributing to the country’s economy. The country is running on remittances. Unfortunately, this is the condition of those who send remittances.

After divorce, most people do not get married, even if they want to get married. It does not matter to those who have children, but if a person who does not have children (men and women) does not get married after divorce, his life will not only suffer from loneliness, but also affect the population of the country. On the other hand, most parents do not agree to give their children to those who have gone for foreign employment to marry.

Especially those who have gone to the Gulf countries find it difficult to get a boy or girl. Some people do not want to get married even if they get it. Because they start feeling lonely. Whether to marry or not is the decision and right of the concerned person. But if one person does not marry, it affects the whole country. It affects the population.

In recent times, the population of Nepal has been continuously decreasing. Dozens of people lose their lives every day due to incidents like suicide, murder, natural disaster, accident, but the number of births is decreasing. This can cause big problems in the future. Because the wealth and power of any country is the citizens.

However, due to reasons like unemployment, poverty, politics, there are increasing number of people not getting married. Even if they get married, they do not give birth to children. If you give birth somehow, you do not give birth to two from one. In our society, leaders who are not married are called tyagi leaders. Therefore, some of our political party leaders have not married. Even if they get married, they have not given birth to children. And if you do not get married or do not have children, do you become a renunciate?

Marriage and giving birth to children not only improves the family but also contributes to the country. Ironically, nowadays giving birth to many children is seen as an abomination in the society. If his income is good, then what happens no matter how many children he has born? Most of them have stopped having many children due to the fear of being called a laughing stock if they give birth to more than one or two children.

One or two children are also sent abroad and the children take foreign nationals. Parents become destitute in old age. On the other hand, there is also an increase in the number of people who live in living together for years and do not get married if they do not agree with their hearts. The state has also discouraged marriage. The government, which gives citizenship at the age of 16 and passport at the age of 18, has set the age of 20 years for marriage. Youths go abroad by getting passports at the age of 18 and when they return after a decade, they do not want to get married.

By then, they can accumulate a lot of wealth, but they have become accustomed to loneliness. And no matter how much the parents do, they refuse to get married. In this way, the number of Nepalis in Nepal is continuously decreasing, while foreigners are found in abundance. There is a lot of Indians in the market. They are involved in various business activities. Earlier, foreigners, including Indians, who came to Nepal only for business and business, are now found to live here with their families.

The government claims that the increase in foreign investment is due to the increase in foreign nationals’ interference in the market. However, the state is ignoring the dangers it may pose in the future. Some foreigners have even made Nepali citizenship by creating fake birth registrations and guardians. If this trend continues, then there will be only foreigners and not Nepalis in Nepal. On that day, the country will also be under the control of foreigners. Then there will be no option but to regret.

Therefore, the eyes of the government should be opened. Big countries like China and Australia are trying to increase the population even though they have a population of billions, but ours is very less. According to the national census of 2078, the population of Nepal is 2 crore 91 lakh 64 thousand 578. Some of them have renounced their Nepali citizenship and millions of people have died due to natural calamities, suicides, murders, accidents, etc.

The government has also discriminated in increasing the population. Maternity leave has been increased in the Civil Service Bill to increase the population. And if the leave is increased in the case of government employees, what about the general public? That the population increases only by giving birth to children by the employees. The government is the guardian of all the citizens.

Therefore, all citizens should be treated equally. To increase the population, the state should now increase employment by increasing access to education and health. Otherwise, no one will have children. Because inflation and unemployment have crushed the back of the people.

And who wants to take responsibility for others when they are unable to take care of their own lives? Therefore, the state should get involved in its work. On the other hand, while the population of the country is continuously decreasing, the burden of debt is increasing. At present, Nepal has a debt of more than 32 trillion. Every Nepali has a burden of millions of debts on his head. The income of the state is decreasing.

Expenditure is increasing. Both the youth and the capital are abroad. On the one hand, the decreasing population and on the other hand, the burden of increasing debt, if the debt is not repaid, there is a danger that foreigners can easily occupy Nepal in the future. Therefore, the government is active in reducing the population. Free education and health should be implemented in the constitution. Employment should be created within the country.

Citizens should be encouraged to get married and have more than two children for married couples. Only then can the population of the country increase. The population will not increase only by increasing the maternity leave of the employees. Earlier, only food, bamboo and cotton were the basic needs, now education, health and employment have been added. If only these basic needs of the citizens are fulfilled, the population will increase on its own.
