Kathmandu. The government is going to provide interest concession to the teachers on the purchase of vehicles. The Education (11th Amendment) Regulations, 2083 have made provision to provide interest concession to the teachers on the purchase of vehicles.
The Ministry of Education has sent the regulation to the Ministry of Finance for approval.
As per the provision proposed in the said regulation, the first grade teacher of the secondary level will have to buy a vehicle up to Rs 5 million and the second grade teacher will have to buy a vehicle up to Rs 4 million to get the benefit of interest concession.
Teachers of third grade, and primary teachers will be given interest concession on the purchase of two-wheelers up to Rs 400,000.
According to the proposed arrangement, the government will bear up to 80 percent of the cost of the financial arrangement through the bank for the purchase of vehicles, installment interest . The remaining 20 percent will have to be managed by the teacher himself.
