KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress leader Krishna Kumari Basnet has announced her candidacy for the post of central member in the 15th general convention of the Nepali Congress. Basnet is the former vice-president of the Nepali Congress, former vice-president of the Free Students Union (Pashupati Campus) and former president of the Nepal Student Union, Pashupati Campus unit.

She holds a master’s degree in political science and a master’s degree in rural development. She is also a lawyer (BA LLB). Basnet has also served as a former member of the Bagmati Province Planning Commission.

Basnet is known as a gentle, polite and honest leader in the Nepali Congress and is popular among the younger generation.

Basnet has announced her candidacy for the post of central member with an aim to further strengthen her political and organizational experience as a central leadership of the party.
