Kathmandu. A 24-hour passenger help desk has been set up on major highways and sensitive areas of Kavre targeting the upcoming festivals including Bada Dashain, Deepawali and Chhath. Help desks have been set up at the main road chowks of Banepa, Dhulikhel, Panchkhal, Dolalghat, Panauti and Mangaltar including BP and Araniko Highway.
Meanwhile, Superintendent of Police (SP) of District Police Office, Kavrepalanchowk, Rabin Karki, inaugurated the passenger help desk amidst a program held at Chardobato of Banepa.
He said that the help desk would be operational 24 hours a day to control the fare fraud and harassment of the passengers returning home from celebrating festivals as well as the tendency of keeping more passengers than the capacity of the vehicles.
SP Karki said the police personnel deputed at the help desk would inform the passengers about the fixed fare, facilitate them for safe travel and provide immediate assistance in case of any problem.
Similarly, the District Police Office has urged the people to contact the nearest help desk or the toll number 100 of Nepal Police in case of any problem, fraud or insecurity during the journey.
