Kathmandu. Police have arrested 24 middlemen for allegedly harassing passengers at Kakarvitta of the eastern checkpoint. A team from the Area Police Office, Kakarbhitta arrested the middlemen from the border point, bus park, customs and market area.

Spokesperson of the District Police Office, Khagendra Bahadur Khadka, said that all the arrested are men.

Khadka said that necessary investigation is underway by arresting those who were forcibly harassing passengers on the pretext of boarding long and short route vehicles, staying in hotels and taking them to hospitals for treatment.

The Area Police Office, Kakarbhitta, had mobilized police personnel in the checkpoint’s bus park, bazaar and customs area after receiving complaints from passengers that middlemen were harassing the passengers.
