Kathmandu. Public transport fares have been hiked. The government has increased the public transport fare in line with the increase in the price of petroleum products.
The public transport fare has been increased by 22 percent after the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport agreed to increase the fare.
According to the Department of Transport Management, the fare has increased by 16.71 per cent in the hilly region, 21.68 per cent in the hilly region and 15.75 per cent in the Terai sector.
With the rise in fuel prices, transport entrepreneurs have been demanding to adjust the public transport fare. Finally, the government has adjusted the fare.
