Kathmandu. The Kathmandu District Court has remanded entrepreneur Bikram Pandey to custody for 8 days on the charge of hacking the government website. The Kathmandu District Court has remanded him in custody for 8 days for further investigation.
Pandey, who is also the vice-chairman of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), was arrested by the Central Investigation Bureau of Police (CEAB) on Friday.
He is accused of manipulating the details of the contract process by providing unauthorized access to (e-bidding) of the Public Procurement Monitoring Office. Police have arrested 13 people in connection with the case.
Pandey is the proprietor of Kalika Construction. The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) had filed a case against him in 2075 BS for sub-standard work in Sikta Irrigation Project. He was released on a bail of Rs 4 crore in the case.
