Kathmandu. The budget for the coming fiscal year is being presented today (May 29). Finance Minister Dr. Yubaraj Khatiwada is scheduled to attend a joint meeting of the National and House of Representatives at 4:00 pm. Swarnim Wagle is going to present the budget.

There is a mandatory constitutional provision that the budget should be presented on May 29. The budget is going to be brought according to this provision.

The budget presentation will be attended by the Prime Minister, members of the Council of Ministers, Vice-Chairman of the National Planning Commission and Governor, among others. The government is preparing to bring the budget after the policies and programmes presented by President Ram Chandra Poudel were endorsed by both the houses of parliament.

Sources claim that this year’s budget will be bigger than the prescribed size. According to sources in the Ministry of Finance, this year’s budget has given priority to the middle class. According to sources, the government has prioritized the projects of Karnali and other states in the budget.
