Kathmandu. A man has been arrested for cheating people of Rs 2.5 crore on the pretext of sending them to Canada. Police have arrested Ramu Chaudhary of Lamkichu ha Municipality-6 of Kailali district.

According to the police, 46-year-old Chaudhary was living at Chandra giri Municipality-5 in Kathmandu.

He went out of contact after extorting Rs 2.5 crore from 26 people on the pretext of lucrative salary and work. Eventually, the police arrested him on the basis of the victim’s complaint. 

Police said further investigation into the case is underway.
