Kathmandu. The government has decided to appoint a personal secretary (PA) to the lawmakers. The decision was taken at a meeting of the Council of Ministers, according to Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Sobita Gautam.
According to Clause 25 of the Act Related to Remuneration and Facilities of Office-bearers and Members of the Federal Parliament, 2073 BS, the government has made a provision to provide facilities to the private secretary by changing the schedule. With this provision, MPs will now get the facility of personal secretary.
In the past, MPs used to get the facility of personal secretary, but the previous Sushila government had abolished it. Under the expenditure cut, the then government had abolished the facilities of personal secretary given to the lawmakers.
The then office-bearers of the federal parliament had expressed dissatisfaction over this decision.
