Kathmandu. The District Traffic Police Office, Janakpurdham, Dhanusha has collected Rs 11,499,501 in revenue in the last fiscal year 2082/83.
Chief Police Inspector Khagendra Kumar Dahal said that in the fiscal year 2082/83, police collected Rs 11,409,501 revenue from taking action against 12,603 vehicles violating traffic rules.
In the fiscal year 2081/82, it had collected Rs 22.11 million revenue while taking action against 28,538 vehicles.
A total of 82 people lost their lives and 2,198 were injured in 1,358 road accidents in Dhanusha district in the fiscal year 2082/83 BS.
In the previous fiscal year 2081/82, 84 people were killed in 1,221 road accidents in Dhanusha.
Although road accidents have increased in Dhanusha district in the last few years, the number of people killed in road accidents has decreased. Police Inspector Dahal said although the number of road accidents has increased a bit in the past year due to poor condition of the road and human negligence, the number of people losing their lives has decreased.
Police Inspector Dahal claimed that the number of road accidents has decreased in recent years due to the promotion of traffic awareness and regular traffic checking.
