Kathmandu. The Department of Labour and Occupational Security has issued a directive to address the complaints or applications submitted by the workers and victims within an hour of the receipt by the office chief and the staffers concerned. The Department issued a circular to all its subordinate Labour and Employment Offices and Occupational Safety and Health Centre on Tuesday.
The Department issued the circular after receiving complaints that the complaints received from various mediums including Hello Sarkar, Ministry or Department in the past or directly to the office were not addressed on time, employees were not behaving properly and there was delay in delivering justice.
The circular states that the employees should comply with their responsibilities and conduct as per the Good Governance (Management and Operation) Act, 2064 and the Civil Service Act, 2049 BS.
If any issue does not fall under its jurisdiction, it should be immediately informed to the service recipients and sent to the concerned body and arrangements should be made to take timely response from the establishment on the complaints of the workers.
The circular issued by the Department states that the office should hold talks as per the labor law and if it is not resolved through talks, the office should take decision as soon as possible and implement the orders or decisions made by the Labour Court and the office on time.
The department has also directed to inform about the complaints received from Hello Sarkar as soon as possible after addressing them.
