Kathmandu. Prime Minister Balendra Shah has ordered the removal of obstacles to the export of plywood . Prime Minister Shah issued the directive during a meeting with the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) Committee on Exports.
The existing problems in the plywood sector and export possibilities were discussed in detail during the talks. Following this, Prime Minister Shah directed the bodies concerned to immediately remove the policy-level and technical knots seen in the export of plywood, according to Hom Prasad Dahal, president of the export committee of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI).
According to Dahal, the plywood entrepreneurs presented this sector as a major part of Nepal’s export trade and apprised the Prime Minister about the challenges of this sector.
The entrepreneurs drew the attention of the entrepreneurs to the problems seen in the supply of raw materials, the need to maintain equivalence between the Indian quality standard and the Nepal standard.Entrepreneurs had stressed that the export process was halted due to the lack of procedures related to the export of plywood, doors (door) and wooden sanitary and fumigation certificates.
The Prime Minister also directed the government to immediately prepare necessary procedures for the export of Sallo and other hardwood products ( to make the government’s plan of exporting timber a success.
Similarly, the issue of large quantities of raw materials coming out despite the possibility of producing finished goods in the country was also discussed. Dahal said that the government has assured to take concrete steps after holding necessary consultations in this regard. Businessmen are optimistic that the quarantine related problems seen in the export of {{} will be resolved soon after the Prime Minister’s activism.
