Kathmandu. The Lumbini Province government has reduced the number of ministries and . A meeting of the Council of Ministers held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Chet Narayan Acharya reduced the number of ministries from 12 to 8.
The meeting also endorsed the ‘Provincial Government Work Division Regulations, 2083’ with eight ministries except the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers.
According to the new structure, the Ministry of Youth and Sports has been merged with the Ministry of Social Development.The Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Transport has been scrapped. The responsibility of Industry and Transport has been transferred to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law.
Similarly, the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Ir rigation has been merged with the Ministry of Urban Development, while the Ministry of Forests and Environment has been added to the Ministry of Forests, and the Ministry of Environment.
Lumbini Province now has the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Law, Industry and Transport, Ministry of Economic Affairs and Planning, Ministry of Agriculture, Land Management and Cooperatives, Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development, Ministry of Forest, Environment and Tourism, Urban Development, Energy , Irrigation, Water Supply, Social Development and Ministry of Health.
