Kathmandu. Supporters of medical entrepreneur and activist Durga Prasai staged a demonstration at Maitighar demanding his release.

Demonstration has been held at Maitighar demanding the unconditional release of Prasain, who was arrested from his residence in Bhaktapur on Sunday.

The demonstration was carried out on Monday putting forth an eight-point demand, including the Citizen Save Mega Campaign, the Citizen Rescue Party Nepal and the proposed New Nationalist Party Nepal.

Among the demands put forth by the government are to release Durga Prasai, respect freedom of expression, maintain social harmony, resolve the problems of landless squatters, stop foreign interference, implement the 12-point agreement and resolve the problems of microfinance, banks, cooperatives and meter interest victims.
