Kathmandu. In the fiscal year 2082/83, more than Rs 571.5 million was collected. The Transport Management Office, Janakpurdham, Dhanusha collected the revenue from the service recipients in the last fiscal year.
Office Chief Basudev Malla said that the office collected Rs 571.53 million revenue in the fiscal year 2082/83 from registration of new vehicles, renewal and distribution of driving licenses.
He said that the revenue collection was Rs 95.4 million less than the previous fiscal year 2081/82. In the previous fiscal year 2081/82, the office had collected revenue of Rs 6666,69,43,980 under various headings.
It is said that the ‘Genji’ agitation of September 23 and 24 and the delay in the development of software by the Department of Transport Management in the last month of the fiscal year have led to a decrease in revenue collection.
In the fiscal year 2082/83, 16,957 motorcycles, 187 buses and trucks, 1,902 tempos/electric rickshaws, 1,022 tractors and 226 jeeps and cars were registered. A total of 13,338 driving licenses were distributed to new and new category members during the period.
