Kathmandu. Milan Gurung has been cleared (Chakra in money laundering. The Supreme Court (SC) has acquitted Gurung and his wife Indira Ghale Gurung on the charge of amassing property through hooliganism. 

A division bench of Justices Abdul Aziz Musalman and Meghraj Pokhrel upheld the special court’s verdict eight years ago and acquitted Gurung and his wife.

The Department of Money Laundering Investigation had accused Gurung and his wife of earning Rs 70.8 million illegally. The Special Court had acquitted them of the case on January 23, 2017. 

However, the Department of Money Laundering Investigation filed an appeal in the Supreme Court, saying that it was not satisfied with the special court’s decision.Now, the Supreme Court has upheld the special decision.
