Speaking at a meeting of the House of Representatives, lawmaker Awasthi said that the domestic airfare is further increased during festivals and disasters like floods and landslides.

She described Nepal’s domestic flights as a journey in the style of and commented that the airfare in the Far-West is increasing faster than aircraft. “You are warmly welcomed to Nepal’s domestic flights. Awasthi said that if four families have to return home to buy an expensive air ticket, they may have tosell their mobile phones to buy an expensive air ticket. He said that there is no emergency to escape the expensive fare.

Stating that the airfare increases during the festive season when the roadis blocked due to floods and landslides, she said that although the airlines companies call it ‘demand and supply’, the citizens would understand it as ‘the price of compulsion.

She urged the airlines to reduce the fares and create an environment in which the citizens can return home easily.
