Tanahun. So far, 11,134 industries have been registered in Tanahun. According to the Integrated Service Office, 343 new industries were added in the district in the last fiscal year alone.

According to Surya Bahadur Thapa, assistant administrative officer of the Integrated Service Office, the highest number of industries in the district are cottage industries. According to him, there are 7,329 domestic, 3,650 small, 149 small and one medium scale industries in Tanahun at present.

Along with the addition of new industries, there is also a trend of dismantling the existing industries and businesses. According to Thapa, in the fiscal year 2082/83 alone, 484 firms and industries, including 250 towards industry and 234 towards commerce, were scrapped.

According to the data of the office, both the process of registration of new industries and the dissolution of old industries have become a regular part of the industrial and commercial activities of the district. On the one hand, new entrepreneurs are being added, while on the other hand, there is a trend of shutting down industries and businesses due to various reasons.

According to Assistant Administrative Officer Thapa, services like registration, renewal, naming and cancellation of industries are provided by the office. The latest data shows that the share of economic activities based on small and cottage enterprises is large in Tanahun.

In the last fiscal year, 343 industries were added and there is more attraction towards enterprises that can be operated with small capital than those with large investments. He said that such industries create employment at the local level and contribute to the production and service sector.
