Kathmandu. In the month of September 2026, 88,248 foreign tourists visited Nepal. According to the Nepal Tourism Board, 30,085 tourists came to Nepal in September from South Asia alone.

The highest number of tourists coming to Nepal are Indian tourists. According to the board, 17,425 Indian tourists have visited Nepal in September.

Apart from this, 7,108 tourists from Sri Lanka, 3,964 from Bangladesh, 1,111 from Bhutan, 429 from Pakistan, 48 from the Maldives and eight from Afghanistan came to Nepal. A total of 19,888 tourists came from other Asian countries. A total of 11,212 tourists from China, 2,066 from Japan, 1,412 from South Korea, 601 from Thailand and 637 from Vietnam have visited Nepal.

Visitors from European countries (15,148), Oceania (5,422), American countries (10,107), Middle East (2,606) and Africa (4,568) visited Nepal.

In the month of September last year, 78,711 foreign tourists had visited Nepal. Although the number of foreign tourists has increased in the month of September this year as compared to the previous year, the number of tourists could not come due to the flood in the Bhotekoshi River of Rasuwa on August 26.
