Kathmandu. With Bada Dashain approaching, the number of customers shopping in various open markets including Bhrikutimandap in Kathmandu has increased. The number of customers who have come to buy new clothes and essential items for Dashain has increased compared to other times.
Traders in Bhrikutimandap and other markets have also been busy with the increase in the number of customers buying new clothes for family members, relatives and children for Dashain. Ashok Khatiwada, a trader of a fancy shop in the open market at Bhrikutimandap, said that the number of people buying the necessary items has increased in various shops including Bhrikutimandap.
According to him, the number of customers buying clothes has increased in the market in the last few days. He said that the number of customers buying clothes especially for children, youth and senior citizens has increased significantly. “The number of customers buying clothes is increasing day by day as Dashain is approaching. Since this morning, there has been more activity in the market than before,” Khatiwada said.
Another trader, Shyam Prakash Adhikari, said that the Nepali tradition of wearing new clothes during Dashain is also the reason for the increase in the business of garments during the festivals.
According to him, with the increase in the number of customers, it has become difficult to show the goods to the traders, choose clothes according to the customer’s choice, tell the price and manage the sale. “The presence of customers buying clothes, shoes, slippers, children’s items and various items of daily use has also increased at Bhrikutimandap,” he said.
Traders say that the number of shoppers has increased in the open market as different types of goods are available in one place and customers can choose goods according to their budget. Traders say that during the festival, cheap markets are preferred for families with limited income.
According to traders, clothes, clothes and other goods are available at a cheaper price than the night-time shops and shopping malls and big business centers in the Kathmandu Valley.
Sangita Neupane, who has been selling clothes and clothes on the street at night in Sundhara, also said that the number of customers has increased with the approaching Dashain. According to her, customers pay attention to both price and quality as they have to buy clothes for all the family members during the festival.
With the gradual improvement in the weather along with Dashain, customers buying clothes and clothes required for the cold season have also started appearing in the market. Hari Krishna Kandel, a trader, said that the number of customers buying jackets, sweaters, tracksuits, hoodies and other warm clothes is also increasing.
Entrepreneurs expect the flow of customers to Bhrikutimandap, Asan, Indrachowk, New Road, Sundhara, New Road, New Road, and New Road markets of Kathmandu Valley to increase as the Dashain and other festivals are approaching. People coming to Kathmandu from Kathmandu valley as well as other districts to buy essential items for the festivals have also started getting busy in shopping.
Traders have also increased the stock of different types of goods targeting Dashain. They say that according to the demand of the customers, different designs, colors and prices of clothes for children, women and men have been kept in the market. Customers choose goods according to their budget and taste.
