Commercial banks have announced new interest rates for the month of Kartik. According to the published interest rates by the banks, the majority of the 18 commercial banks have reduced interest rates for the month of Kartik. However, two commercial banks have increased interest rates, while three have kept the interest rate stable.
Nepal SBI Bank and NMB Bank have increased interest rates for the month of Kartik. Nepal SBI Bank has increased the interest rate by 0.70 percent, while NMB Bank has increased it by 1.01 percent.
Similarly, Everest Bank, Prabhu Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Nepal Bank, Agriculture Development Bank, Citizens Bank, Nabil Bank, Global IME Bank, Nepal Investment Mega Bank, Kumari Bank, Prime Commercial Bank, Himalayan Bank, and NIC Asia Bank have reduced interest rates. Among the banks that have reduced interest rates, Everest Bank has reduced it by the highest percentage of 1.83 percent.
Furthermore, Rastriya Banijya Bank, Machhapuchchhre Bank, and Laxmi Bank have stated that they will maintain consistency in the interest rates for the month of Ashoj.
