Kathmandu. Pokhara—The land encroached upon by the Pokhara Bus Park at Prithivichowk of Pokhara Metropolitan City-9 and Firke Khola that flows through the central part of Pokhara is to be vacated. Issuing a public notice on Wednesday, the metropolis directed ÷the individuals and organizations themselves to remove the permanent and temporary structures from Pokhara-18, Andherikuna to ward no 2, 4, 5, 7, 8 and 17 and merge into the stream of Pirke rivulet that flows into the Fewa lake.

As all the structures within the area where the poles are installed will be removed by the technical team of KMC, the KMC will be notified to remove the structures within the stipulated time, and if the removal is not done, the KMC itself will remove the poles and the cost will be recovered from the concerned person and institution. Earlier, a public notice on April 18 had given 35 days to remove the structures inside the Firkekhola rivulet. Similarly, the metropolis had issued a public notice on Kartik 2080 BS to remove the structures within the rivulet area of the riverbank.

A case has been filed at the Pokhara High Court against the information and the court has already ruled that there is no need to issue a certiorari and mandamus order. Based on the court’s order and the previous notice issued by the metropolis on April 19, the KMC has been given a deadline to remove all the structures constructed by encroaching on the land at Firkekhola area by May 22.

Pokhara—The metropolis is to proceed with the construction of the bus park by vacating the encroached land of the proposed modern Pokhara Bus Park. The details of landless squatters, landless Dalits and unsystematic settlers living on the land of the bus park will be collected by May 22. The notice issued on Wednesday also urged the landless, Dalit, landless squatters and unsystematic settlers who have received evidence earlier to submit the details of themselves and their families to the office of ward no 9 by May 22.

A copy of the evidence distributed by the municipality, a copy of the citizenship certificate of the head of the household and family members, the relatives of the head of the household and other members or the self-declaration of the relationship of the head of the household should be submitted.

In 2031÷32 BS, 205 ropanis of land was acquired at Prithvichowk in Pokhara-9 for the construction of a bus park. Currently, only around 60 ropanis of land is left to be acquired for the bus park.

Dhanaraj Acharya, mayor of Pokhara Metropolitan City, said that the bus park will be constructed by vacating the encroached land of the bus park owned by the Pokhara Valley Town Development Committee. “Some five hundred families have been living in houses on the land of the bus park in the name of landless Dalits, landless squatters and unsystematic settlers. Now we are investigating the real situation and then we will make proper arrangements for the squatters. “There is an all-party and all-party consensus that the bus park should be constructed,” he said. The master plan of the bus park has also been prepared, we will construct the bus park by vacating the encroached land. ’
