Kathmandu. The government has decided to provide Rs 25,000 per family to the displaced squatters. A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Tuesday decided to provide a lump sum of Rs 25,000 for the rehabilitation.
The government has also decided to provide Rs 15,000 per family of five members to encourage them to make arrangements for alternative settlement to those who have been removed from the risky settlements.
Likewise, a family with more than five members will be provided with additional Rs 2,000 per month for three months. Similarly, the government has also decided to provide Rs 15,000 monthly assistance to the squatters.
The government also decided to accept a grant of 6.11 million Swiss francs from the Swiss government and RMB 79.36 million from the Chinese government for the repair of the Araniko Highway.
