Kathmandu. The government is preparing to give Rs 15,000 monthly to the genuine squatters. The government is preparing to provide Rs 15,000 monthly as house rent to the genuine squatters for temporary management until they are issued land ownership certificates.

The government representatives gave this information at a meeting of the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee of the House of Representatives on Thursday. Necessary resources for this purpose have also been assured.

Currently, screening is being done to identify the landless people living in various holding centers in Kathmandu. The government has set a target to distribute the land ownership certificates through ‘fast track’ as soon as the screening is completed.
