Remittances received Rs 1.659 trillion in 9 months

Kathmandu. In the first nine months of the current fiscal year, remittances amounting to Rs 1,659.41 billion have been inflowed. The remittance inflow has increased by 39.1 per cent.

The remittance inflow had grown by 10.2 per cent in the same period of the previous year. According to the report, the remittance inflow in the first month of April was Rs 209.75 billion.

The remittance inflow in the same month of the previous year had amounted to Rs 139.54 billion. The remittance inflow in US Dollars increased by 31.9 per cent and reached Rs 11.55 billion in the review period. The remittance inflow had grown by 7.5 per cent the year before that.

In the review period, net second income (net transfer) stood at Rs 1.820 trillion. Such income had been Rs. 1303.12 billion in the same period of the previous year.

A total of 294,186 Nepalis have taken final labour permit (institutional and personal – new) for foreign employment while 293,259 have taken re-labour permit in the review period.
