Govt preparing to adjust electricity tariff to be cheaper in rainy season than winter

Kathmandu. The government is preparing to adjust the electricity tariff. The government is preparing to adjust the electricity tariff for the rainy season and for the rainy season and the dry season. 

According to a senior official of the Ministry of Energy, the government is preparing to adjust the price of electricity in the rainy season so that the tariff will be cheaper in the rainy season than in the dry season.

It is expected that the consumers will not be affected by the 5% VAT as the electricity tariff willbe cheaper in the rainy season as and {{} in the dry season. 

Thus, more electricity is produced in the rainy season than in the dry season. When electricity generation is high and consumption is low, there is a situation of wastage of electricity. Therefore, the government has started preparations to provide relief to the consumers by reducing the electricity tariff during the time of high power generation. 

The government has been exporting electricity to Indiaand Bangladesh during the rainy season.
