Kathmandu. The government is preparing to distribute the land ownership certificates to the landless squatters from the third week of June. Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives, Federal Affairs and General Administration Pratibha Rawal has pledged to distribute land ownership certificates to landless squatters from the third week of June. 

She said the government was working with a new action plan to resolve the problems of landless squatters. 

Stating that the problem of landless squatters could not be resolved as commissions became political recruitment centres in the past , lawmaker Rawal said that although 1.2 million applications have been received in the last 30 years, only 9,000 have received land ownership certificates so far. 

She said that the committee to be formed under the chairmanship of the Chief District Officer (CDO) at the district level will work for the management of landless squatters and a committee of experts will work at the center.
