Kathmandu. Mahendra Bhote, who was in custody in connection with the Suryadarshan Cooperative fraud case, has been released. Bhote was released on a bail of Rs 5 lakh. 

He was released on bail after pledging to pay a sum of Rs 17 crore. A single bench of Kaski District Court Judge Him lal Bhote issued the order to release Bhote on bail. 

Bhote, who is also the leader of the CP N-UML Youth Association , was seen embezzling Rs 8.5 crore from Suryadarshan Cooperative.The chairman of the cooperative,Gitendra Babu Rai (GB Rai) is currently absconding. 

In the case registered at the District Court regarding the Suryadarshan cooperative case, the complainant has been demanded to pay the claim amount of Rs 1.11 billion.
