3-day ultimatum to employees’ trade unions to vacate government buildings

Kathmandu. The government has directed the former trade union of civil servants to vacate the government building. The Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Federal Affairs and General Administration has directed the government buildings and structures used by the erstwhile national level civil servants, trade unions and employees to vacate the government buildings and structures within three days.

According to the notice issued by the Ministry, the concerned organizations will have to completely vacate the building and other structures within three days from the date of publication of the notice and submit the documents , property responsibility and building key to the Internal Management Division of the Ministry.

According to the Ministry, the Government of Nepal through the ‘Ordinance Designed to Amend Some Nepal Acts, 2083’ published in the Nepal Gazette on May 5, 2083 has repealed the provision related to trade union of civil servants under the Civil Service Act, 2049.

The ministry has also warned that necessary process will be initiated as per the prevailing law if the structure is not vacated within the stipulated time.Besides, the notice has also been pasted in the buildings of the District Administration Office and of the organization, according to the ministry.

Independent Civil Servants Employees Organization, Nepal Madhesi Civil Servants Forum, Nepal Civil Servants Organization, Nepal Civil Service Employees Union, Nepal National Civil Servants Organization, Unified Government Employees Organization Nepal, The structures used by the Nepal Health Workers Association and Madhesi Health Workers Forum Nepal will have to be vacated.
