Kathmandu. The foundation stone of a monastery building has been laid in Solukhumbu, Nepal. Mina Karki Basnet, chairperson of Likhu PK Rural Municipality, and Ajay Kumar Singh, Second Secretary at the Embassy of India, Kathmandu, jointly laid the foundation stone for the construction of Palyul Dong Xoling Monastery at Likhu PK Rural Municipality of Likhumbu district in Koshi Province of Nepal.
The financial assistance of the Government of India is about Rs. The building is being constructed at a cost of Rs 3.3 crore. This high impact community development project will be implemented through Likhu PK Rural Municipality of Solukhumbu and sixth high impact community development project of Solukhumbu district of Nepal.
On the occasion, the Chairman of Likhu PK Rural Municipality and other stakeholders appreciated the development assistance provided by the Government of India and expressed confidence that the new infrastructure would help topreserve the rich cultural heritage of Likhu PK Rural Municipality of Solukhumbu.
As close neighbours, India and Nepal enjoy extensive and multi-sectoral cooperation. The implementation of High Impact Community Development projects reflects the continued support of Government of India to strengthen efforts of Government of Nepal to advance development and development and prosperity in priority areas.
