Kathmandu. Petrol pumps will not be allowed to shut down petrol pumps due to artificial shortage of petroleum products . Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has amended the ‘Petroleum Products Dealers Bylaw’ to make this provision.
According to the amended provision, a fine of Rs 300,000 to Rs 100,000 will be imposed on those who close petrol pumps due to artificial shortage of .The regulation also states that the distribution of petrol and diesel can be banned from 5 days to 15 days.
This was not the case before. However, after the fall in the price of petroleum products, the privatepetrol pumps stopped the sale of petroleum products.
The meeting of the Board of Directors of the corporation held on Wednesday night has added the sentence “Seller of petroleum products shall not create a situation of non-availability of petroleum products by drying the nozzle (dry)” in Section 29D (1).
However, a fine of Rs 300,000 will be imposed for the first time, fuel supply will be stopped for 5 days, the supply will be stopped for 10 days by imposing a fine of Rs 600,000 for the second time and a fine of Rs 1 million for the third time.
