Kathmandu. Provisions have been proposed to ban the open sale of food items such as lentils, rice and legumes. This provision has been proposed in the new draft of the ‘National Supply Policy, 2083’ prepared by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies. 

is designedto make such arrangements keeping in mind the health and quality of food of the citizens. 

The draft also states that food items cannot be sold openly and that such food must be compulsorily packaged, quality checked and labeled . 

With the implementation of this provision, it is expected that it will help in preventing the price hike, adulteration and sale of inedible goods. On the other hand, The government has also put forward a plan to strictly monitor the border from the border point to {{} to secure the supply system.
