Kathmandu. Baitadi: A big financial embezzlement has been found in the Purchaudi Municipality of Bait adi. The audit report prepared by the Office of the Auditor General for the fiscal year 2081/82 has revealed huge financial embezzlement in the municipality.

The audit report has also revealed that the employees of the municipality have taken millions of rupees as office expenses.

According to the report, Anil Bahadur Bohara, the administrative officer of the municipality (sixth) has received payment of Rs 59,38,523 from the municipality in a fiscal year. The amount was paid for food, lunch, fuel, maintenance and car rent, according to the report.

This is the Directive No. of the Ministry of Finance Guidelines on the Implementation of the Budget . There is a provision to pay through the bank while making payment for all types of transactions in Rs. 45.

However, Puchaudi Municipality has been found to have paid cash to various employees and not in the bank account of the concerned suppliers. Moreover, the municipality has paid nearly Rs 60 lakh to a single employee, raising questions about the transparency of the budget.

Similarly, Lokendra Bahadur Dhami has been given Rs 72,000 for the purchase of medicines, Rs 90, 400 to Administrator Chakra Bahadur Dhungal for the purchase of office goods, Rs 1, to Prabin for food, snacks and vehicle rented and Rs 1,20,800.Meena Kumar Joshi was paid Rs 56,600 for food and snacks and Rs 603, 903 for fuel and repair.

According to the audit report, there is no transparency and there is no transparency in the payment of cash to the employees and by giving cash to the employees.

Bohora says – ‘It was a mistake to take the payment in person, there was no scam’

Meanwhile, Administrative Officer Bohara admitted that it was a mistake to take the payment personally.

‘The office gave the responsibility. According to the responsibility given by the office, I have organized the program with an advance. Talking to Finance Sarokar, Bohara said, “I organized the program to organize the program instead of freezing the budget.” It was a weakness. ’

According to Bohara, the budget was allocated for skill-oriented programs at the end of the fiscal year. The program could not be held immediately by calling for tenders and the program had to be held by taking an advance as the budget was frozen. He claimed that most of the Rs 59,38,523 taken by Bohara was spent on skill-based programmes.
