KATHMANDU: NIC Asia Bank Limited has donated a cash contribution of Rs 2 crore under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Rs 2.1 million collected from its directors and employees to the Prime Minister’s Natural Disaster Relief Relief Fund (PMKR) for the purpose of rescue and relief distribution to the people affected by the massive floods in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa district.

The bank’s Chairman Mr. Ashok Kumar Agrawal and the Chief Executive Officer of the Bank, Mr. Sujit Kumar Shakya jointly handed over the cheque to Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle on 5.05.2011.

The bank has provided the amount to provide relief to Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading and other areas due to the unimaginable flood in the Bhotekoshi River on the morning of August 26.

The Bank has expressed sorrow over the loss of physical and human life in the area due to the sudden and unimaginable floods.
