One year of the Gen-G movement: Missing gold from commercial banks still not found, no gold or money for victims!

Kathmandu. Gen-G has completed one year of the movement. It has also been one year since the disappearance of 18 kg of gold along with cash from the New Baneshwor branch of the National Commerce Bank .

On September 10, 2018, 18 kg of gold was lo oted in the vault of when the bank’s New Baneshwor branch was vandalized and set on fire on September 10, 2019.

However , 226 customers who have kept gold in the } branch of the bank have not yet received compensation . Despite repeated agitations demanding the return of their gold, the victims have not received the gold nor the compensation.

The bank has been replying (2082 on the day of the loss of gold by paying the money according to the price of but thematter has not been settled due to lack of agreement with the customer.

customers of the bank have claimed that is responsible for the security of the gold pledged in the bank and due to the negligence of the bank, the gold was looted on that day and demanded that gold should be given in exchange for gold.

‘What was the price of gold at that time? How much is it now?’, said one of the victims, ‘‘6-7 months of not reporting the loss of gold, charging interest and paying the same price now? Whatever the size, we need gold in exchange for gold. ’
