Industry Minister vows to remove legal and procedural hurdles in industry sector

KATHMANDU: Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Deepak Sah has expressed his commitment to create investment-friendly environment by removing the legal and procedural hurdles in the industrial sector. Speaking at a meeting of the Industry, Commerce and Labour and Consumer Welfare Committee today, he said that the government was aware of the need to improve the laws, procedures and working style as per the time.

Stating that the role of the government was to facilitate regulation and policy formulation while the private sector was the major partner in production, investment, employment and innovation, he said that the government and private sector should work together to find solutions to the problems.

He has pledged to adopt a policy of zero tolerance against corruption and unnecessary interference, to reform the law if it is obstructive, to simplify the process if it is obstructive, to cooperate and coordinate if there is a lack of coordination.

Minister Saha has pledged to make laws and processes simple, transparent, technology-friendly and investment-friendly to address the digital economy, e-commerce, modern supply chain, international competition and the changing role of private sector.
