Two arrested for selling 19,000 counterfeit notes for Rs 28,000

Kathmandu. Police have arrested two persons for allegedly dealing counterfeit currency notes in the course of the sale of goats from Kakani of Sunkosh i Rural Municipality- 9 in Okhaldhunga district. According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Raj Babu Maharjan of the District Police Office, Krishna Khatri, 21, and Dhruba Bahadur Khatri, 33, of Keurini of Champadevi Rural Municipality were taken into custody.

They bought three goats from Hasta Bahadur Tamang and Bir Bahadur Tamang of Sunkoshi-9 and made a business of Rs 28,000.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Maharjan said that the duo was arrested after they were found using 19,000 counterfeit notes of Rs 19,000 denomination.

During the preliminary inquiry, it was revealed that the fake note was brought from Kathmandu. Further investigation into the incident is underway, he said.
