Kathmandu. A delegation led by NADA President Surendra Kumar Upreti met with Finance Minister Dr. In a meeting with Dr. Swarnim Wagle, we discussed the current situation of Nepal’s automobile sector.

On the occasion, Chairman Uprety expressed his best wishes for his successful tenure and expressed his confidence that the incumbent government would bring necessary new policies and regulations to uplift the automobile sector of Nepal.

On the occasion, the Finance Minister said that the government was thinking on ways to increase revenue collection, wanted to reduce tax rate to increase revenue and expand the scope of revenue and assured of bringing private sector-friendly policy. On the occasion, Minister Wagle said that the government would take necessary initiatives to eliminate the irregularities, make big investment for road construction and hold talks with NADA again regarding upcoming budget.

During the discussion, Chairman Upreti said that there was a need to give discount on imported raw materials for the flourishing of Nepal’s automobile industry.

On the occasion, President Uprety said that the government has been facing various problems for the production of automobiles such as tyretube, battery, lubricants and helmets in the country. Likewise, Upreti submitted a 36-point written opinion on behalf of NADA.

During the discussion, Karan Chaudhary, former president of NADA, said that there is a huge potential for automobile component industries in Nepal. On the occasion, Mr. Rajan Babu Shrestha, Special Advisor of NADA, talked about the need of investment-friendly policies and regulations for the promotion and promotion of electric vehicles in Nepal. On the same occasion, Shrestha said that due to the reduction in GST in India, the smuggling has increased and the border areas should be tightened. Likewise, Bikram Singhania, vice-president of NADA, said that the government should encourage Nepali industries.
