Kathmandu. Former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has claimed that the government has taken him under control illegally. Oli made the claim in a post on social media after his release on Thursday.

He said the government had detained him for 13 days on criminal charges with prejudice and retaliation.

“I was finally released after the government failed to find the basis and evidence to prosecute me even though I was kept in illegal custody for 13 days with criminal charges with prejudice and vindictiveness.” Oli wrote on Facebook.

He also thanked all those who raised his voice for his release and expressed respect to the Supreme Court for issuing the mandamus order. He also expressed gratitude to the police for treating him humanely while in police custody and to the TU Teaching Hospital for providing medical treatment.
