Kathmandu. The government has spent about 54 percent of the budget in the current fiscal year in the 9 months of 2082/83. The government had presented a budget of Rs 19.64 trillion for the current fiscal year. According to the Financial Comptroller General Office under the Ministry of Finance, the government has spent Rs 105 9 billion till mid-April.
According to the Office, the highest amount of the allocated budget has been spent on the current budget under the heading .
Current expenditure is the expenditure incurred for the day-to-day operations and regular functions of the government. This expense does not create new wealth or provide long-term returns. This usually goes up to 58-62 percent of the total budget.
The government has allocated a budget of Rs 1180 billion for this year, while the government has already spent Rs 747 billion by the review period. The government has not been able to spend much on the capital side. Capital expenditure is spent on the construction of long-term infrastructure such as roads, bridges, school buildings, hospitals,irrig ation, hydropower etc. The budget has not been spent on such headings. Contract ors are facing a shortage of bitumen fuel, especially in the Middle East, due to the stress in the Middle East. The impact of which has been seen on capital expenditure.
The government has allocated Rs 407 billion for capital expenditure in the current fiscal year and Rs96.19 billion has been spent. This expenditure is 23.58 percent of the allocated budget.
According to the Office of the Comptroller General the budget allocated by the government for the management of public debt for this year has also been large.This budget under the heading is used to pay the principal and interest of the loans taken by the government. This heading was specifically allocated by the government 375 billion. Out of this, Rs 216 billion has already been spent. The government has earned Rs 907 billion till mid-April of the current fiscal year. The government has collected Rs8.86 billion from revenue alone.
